Inclusions:

  1. Animal, vegetable, mixed and synthetic fats and oils.

Exclusions:

  1. Animal fat consumed as part of carcase meat.
  2. Cod liver oil, see Vitamin / mineral products / tonics in the 'Products for special nutritional use' Main Group

  1. New codes have been assigned. The system is described in Discussion Note N003: Revised hierarchical food codes.

Discussion:

  1. The vegetable oils are temporarily classified as in Eurocode 2 version 93/1. However the extra level could be used to subdivide them at the subgroup level. An alternative classification is provided as the basis for discussion.
